Naseem Khan
We were very sad to learn that Naseem Khan, one of our founding trustees, died on 8th June.
We first met Naseem through her work for the Friends of Arnold Circus, a local regeneration project, at the point that we were first setting up MoS. We were extraordinarily lucky that she came onboard as a trustee at this crucial time. She brought her enormous professional experience in arts strategy and cultural policy to the development of the Ministry. In 2014, we collaborated with the Raines Foundation School, Phytology and the Bethnal Green Nature Reserve – one of the many remarkable projects to which Naseem committed her time.
She approached all her work in the same way as she dealt with her illness – with a remarkable combination of humour, grace and grit. In the last days before she died, she found out that the memoir that she had been writing for the last couple of years had found a publisher. Naseem’s story was a remarkable one. You can read more about it here.
We always be grateful for her contribution to the development of MoS and for being the amazing, inspiring woman that she was.
